GREENLIGHT HIGH

This is a really late post but thanks to Blogger, I can modify the posting date and time. Hehe. And this is going to be a long entry BTW. (Pictures are from Me, Flo Magboo, and Melissa Tan.

So anyway, Greenlight. I don't really know how I'm going to write about the whole thing since this is the first big event I handled and organized. Uhm, I guess I'm just going to narrate my whole Saturday to Sunday morning - from beginning to end. Don't worry, you won't get bored because I'll be using pictures and not just  long sentences and paragraphs.

Call time in UP was 6am for KALYE KASAN: UP IE Club's Road Race 2009.

I manned the first station (Parking of Palma Hall Annex) for the third task (collecting recyclables that would amount to 25 Pesos) in the first pit stop (UP Diliman) of the race. It was fun during the first hour but I got really bored waiting for the remaining 5 teams to get their tin cans from me. Good thing Alex kept me company and Pads offered to buy breakfast for us.

After the race, our team went straight (not really, we had lunch at Wham Burger first) to One San Miguel Avenue Building to start setting up. At around 2:30 in the afternoon, the skies started to get darker and the wind has gone berserk! I told them we should go inside before the rain starts to pour. So we walked towards the door - super hirap walking against the wind! Tinatangay kami and I am not exaggerating, okay?

So while waiting for the rain to stop, we brought the drinks that we got from our sponsors, upstairs.
I love our marketing team. They're so awesome! We got 23 sponsors, big time yo.

When it finally stopped pouring, we brought the drinks outside. I look very macho (and angry!) in my picture. And and and I learned how to work a beer keg! YEAAAH.

After setting up the place, Nico called for a group picture because he knew we won't get to have one during the party - and yes he was right. We were all too busy checking if everything's okay and of course, entertaining our guests. After taking this photo we checked in the Astoria Plaza to rest, take a bath, and get dressed up for the party.

We started the night with a wild drinking game. Three teams with three members each. No girls joined the game, I guess guys really are the drinkers. On the first part, one contestant must be seated while drinking the beer held by his teammate. Then after drinking, they're going to bend and turn 10 times then do 10 jumping jacks after. First to complete the routine wins. I SWEAR I SHOULD'VE CAPTURED THIS PART ON VIDEO! Rellan's fall after the turning part was EPIC.

Second part (on the left): The next contestant has to drink two cans of beer, crush it using his hands only, then shoot it in the right garbage bag - the black one for non-biodegradable. Drink, crush, then shoot.

Third part (on the right): The last contestant is given a whole bottle of The Bar vodka (or gin?) and a shot glass. The one who gets to drink the most wins.

And the winners: BRUCE LIM'S TEAM! Woohoo. Hardcore man, hardcore.

Next was Re-STYLE: a fashion design contest using recyclables only. Too bad I wasn't able to take pictures of each contestant :(

On the left: Lexi Noval and Ella Santos. Ella used black and white plastic bags. I think she got the 2nd place?

On the right: April Japzon and Lenvil. They weren't able to land a top spot, but I just love the Aprils Lady GaGa hair.

And the winning piece by Kel Dumana. THIS IS JUST TOO AWESOME. The dress was made from mirrors and silver paper plates. WILD, RIGHT?

This was before I fell off the railings and Inno spilled his drink all over me. :|

Clean up time. Lots of plastic cups and bottles, and tin cans to recycle! Woohoo. Lots of people got drunk... and they helped save the world. HAHAHA. Recycling's the way to go people.

I really didn't get to help much during the clean up because my feet already died on me. When we got to our hotel room Celine and I immediately took off our heels and left them in the sala.

I really wanted to go directly to bed, but I had to take a bath first to wash out all the alcohol that got spilled on me. Rawr.

We actually had a nice hotel suite. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms (one with a tub) a sala, living room, and a kitchen. Too bad we didn't get to maximize our stay there. Loved the breakfast though. I love hotel food ♥

WHEW. Told you this is going to be a long post. HAHA! Hopefully you didn't get bored reading everything.
