This is the first Zooey Deschanel movie I got to watch. I think she's okay… didn't find her acting remarkable in this movie. But she's so pretty! Her eyes are so gorgeous, and so is her smile. I find it creepy though that she and Katy Perry look so much alike. Anyway.

500 Days of Summer is a modern tale of love and young expectations. It qualifies as a good date movie - I watched it alone though (torrent). It looks good, feels good, and it avoids clichés. The only cliché I noticed was Tom's impossibly wise beyond her years, advice-giving younger (waaaay younger) sister, Rachel Hansen (Chloe Moretz).
The movie revolves around Tom Hansen (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), a frustrated architect working at a greeting card company, and Summer Finn (Zooey Deschanel), the attractive new assistant of his boss. Tom gets love-struck when he learns that Summer likes his favorite band (The Smiths) too.
So yeah, they started going out, making love and all that, but a problem arises. Summer wants to keep things casual and doesn’t want to commit, while Tom begins to fall madly in love with her.
Oh wait! I just remembered the movie He’s Just Not That Into You. 500 Days of Summer could be its counter-movie: She’s Just Not That Into You. HAHAHA K.
It’s really refreshing to see it from a man’s point of view and that for once, the girl isn’t the one who ends up crying and heartbroken. The movie gets boring as it progresses though, because not a lot happens action-wise.
It’s a good watch people, watch it :)
